Leadership
Dr. Setthivoine You
Chief Scientist | Co-Founder
With a career in plasma physics spanning more than two decades, Dr. You is the Chief Scientist at Helicity Space leading all technology development.
Prior to Helicity, he served as an Associate Professor at The University of Tokyo and an Assistant Professor in Aeronautics & Astronautics at the University of Washington. Notably, Dr. You conducted pioneering research at Caltech during his postdoctoral tenure after obtaining a PhD in Plasma Physics from Imperial College London in the U.K.
Marta Calvo
Operations | Co-Founder
Marta Calvo runs the company’s operations due to her extensive experience in project management, quality control and engineering.
She began her career in process control and quality assurance at various manufacturing companies where she led the development of new production facilities. This expertise led to similar management roles at Pratt Whitney Rocketdyne which became Aerojet Rocketdyne. A US army veteran, she graduated from CalPoly Pomona with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and holds a Master of Business Administration from the Bordeaux School of Management in France.
Stephane Lintner
Co-Founder
Lintner is also the CEO and co-founder of JIKO, the modern custodial bank built on US Treasury Bills. Prior to his founding of Helicity and JIKO, Lintner worked as a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs’ Securities Division for almost a decade, leveraging technology and finding synergies to modernize the bank. He graduated from Caltech with a PhD in Applied and Computational Mathematics, and holds a Master’s degree in Machine Learning and Computer Science from the Ecole Normale Superieure in France.
The diverse and expert technical team is focused on bringing practical fusion propulsion to reality. Their expertise includes postgraduate studies in physics and engineering with experience in developing hardware and diagnostics for fusion propulsion research, antiproton research, fundamental plasma physics, space physics at fusion plasma diagnostics, and mechanical engineering of high-power magnets. Collectively, Helicity’s team has studied and completed research at the the California Institute of Technology, University of Washington, CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, through remote work in Antarctica, at the University of California, Los Angeles, the University of Colorado at Boulder, the University of Wisconsin, and the University of Maryland in Baltimore County.
